Business Bay, the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Ruler of Dubai, is destined to be the business center of Dubai and offers both residential and commercial property. Currently under construction, Business Bay will have more than 230 buildings when completed and cover more than 64 million square feet, making it a city within the city of Dubai. It is situated along a newly dredged and extended section of Dubai Creek, from Ras Al Khor to Sheikh Zayed Road.
The first phase of Dubai's transformation began in the 1970s, when the Dubai Creek first was dredged. Since then, the Dubai government has actively pursued its goal of diversifying its economy. Traditionally based on the trade of oil and centered on the Creek, the economy of Dubai is now expanding to include tourism, service and real estate. Currently, Dubai is one of the fastest-growing cities in the world, with numerous large construction projects that are setting building-related records. For example, the Burj Dubai is the world's tallest tower, the Dubai Mall is now the world's largest shopping mall, and the Rose Tower is the world's tallest hotel. Soon to be completed is Dubailand, a Disney-style resort twice the size of any other.
Business Bay is designed to be the UAE's global commercial and business center, much as Manhattan and Ginza are the business centers of New York and Tokyo. The government of Dubai called on some of the world's foremost consultancies for help in developing the plans for Business Bay, and furthering the UAE's vision of Dubai as a global business center. Other recent projects include Dubai's Healthcare City, Internet City and Media City, as well as the Jumeriah Beach Residence.
The design of Business Bay is spectacular. At the entrance is the Vision Tower, a 51-story skyscraper. Covered in transparent glass, with a stunning sloped glass facade, the Vision Tower literally glows from within.
At one end of Business Bay are towers housing the Dubai International Financial Center as well as other international financial firms. Also in this area is the Emirates Towers complex, which consists of the Emirates Office Tower and the Jumeriah Emirates Towers Hotel. Joined by a retail complex called. The Boulevard, these towers are, respectively, the 12th and 29th tallest buildings in the world.
Also within Business Bay is Bay Square, an area of more than 2.4 million square feet. Bay Square houses small to medium sized businesses, as well as residences ranging from studio apartments to luxurious condominiums in buildings such as Citadel Tower. Many have stunning views of Bay Square you can check our Google map on the right to see the master plan of this project from over head and contact us below if you are interested in any properties within the development.
The other main area of Business Bay is called the Executive Towers. Executive Towers consists of 12 towers, one of which is a hotel, one a commercial building, and the other 10 devoted to luxurious residences. High-end shopping malls, gourmet restaurants, and health clubs provide every amenity for visitors and residents.
Throughout Business Bay, beautiful landscaping abounds. Walkways, gardens and fountains create a stunning setting for the cutting-edge architecture, making Business Bay a truly outstanding city within a city.
